Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and is synonymous with international banking. The city is also the commercial and cultural centre of Switzerland and according to several surveys from 2006 to 2008 Zurich was named the city with the best quality of life in the world.
The modern Zurich is the city of bankers in a country of banks. The concentration of wealth can be seen along the Bahnhofstrasse in the centre of Zurich. The street is lined by designer boutiques, exclusive restaurants, and trendy bars. As well all major Swiss banks have a presence here.
The city truly deserves to be the ‘cultural capital of Switzerland’, as there are more then 50 museums, art galleries, auction houses, orchestras, the opera, the Schauspielhaus theatre, and many other places which attract artists from all media.
